Here’s a fascinating day for Theatre Buffs!
For only the second time in it’s 35 year old history the multiple award winning Sharnbrook Mill Theatre Trust is opening its doors.
You will be welcome to look behind the scenes at this unique theatre in its glorious setting on the banks of the River Great Ouse in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire.
And the best thing about this event, it’s completely free!
From 11am till 5.30 on Sunday 26th July you’ll be able to take part in behind the scenes tours, see performances on stage, learn about the technical skills involved in every show and get to know what makes a theatre operate. Refreshments will also be on offer.
We have a thriving adult and youth membership and many of them will be there on the day to show you how this charity theatre is run and how you can volunteer and take part in future shows and productions if you would care to.
We have extensive wardrobe, scenery and props departments filed with costumes and artefacts from such shows as: Oliver, Aladdin, Fiddler On the Roof, The Sound of Music, David Copperfield, Macbeth and the Secret Garden.
There has been a water-mill on this site since the days of the Domesday Book and you’ll be able to visit the secret areas of the building that date back to 1703. You can also find out how it was converted from a disused flour Mill complete with mill-pond and mill wheel into a thriving and exciting community venue.
And the best thing about this event, it’s completely free!
Disabled Access and parking is available, including lift and WC.
The Sharnbrook Mill Theatre is in Mill Road, Sharnbrook MK44 1NP and the Open Day is on Sunday 26th July From 11am till 5.30
