Seven Oxfordshire arts organisations are opening their doors to each other’s audiences on 22 and 23 June. Something for the Weekend 2013 follows the hugely successful season of 2011, and highlights the immense range and quality of arts on offer across Oxfordshire to watch or participate with.
The seven venues are: from the north of the county The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury and The Theatre in Chipping Norton; from the city The North Wall Arts Centre, Oxford Playhouse, Arts at the Old Fire Station and Pegasus; and from the south Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot. This special weekend aims to highlight the diversity of professional arts in Oxfordshire and how local communities can get involved. The programme will include live shows both inside and outside the venues, taster workshops in arts, drama, dance or music and behind the scenes tours, allowing visitors to get an insight into what goes on backstage.
This promotional campaign is intended to help more local residents try out their nearest venue or have a day out somewhere different. There promises to be plenty to see and do over this family-friendly weekend.
Details about the weekend will be available at each venue and published on their websites. You can also call each venue for more information and catch up with all of the latest news before and during the weekend via Facebook at: www.facebook.com/SomethingForTheWeekend2013
