Casting has been announced for Watford Palace Theatre’s World Premiere production of Daniel Kanaber’s new play Shiver. The cast will be: David Horovitch as Mordecai Tinaver; Ben Caplan as Ben Tinaver; and Ilan Goodman as Rabbi Joshua Avod.
Shiver is a haunting, warm and funny play about family, identity, and love. When Sadie dies, her husband (a lapsed Jew), their son (an atheist), and a trainee Rabbi, gather together at her home to remember her in the tradition of sitting Shivah…
Daniel Kanaber has previously written for the Royal Court and Soho Theatre’s writers’ groups, as well as Theatre503 and Watford Palace Theatre Creative Associate Company – Nabokov. His short film Strays (directed by Robert McKillop), longlisted for a BAFTA, is being developed as a feature.
Derek Bond is directing Shiver following the five-star success of his production of Neil Simon’s Lost in Yonkers (Watford Palace Theatre, 2012). Other credits include award-winning musical Floyd Collins (Southwark Playhouse).
