Roald Dahl’s magical story James and the Giant Peach, adapted by renowned children’s playwright David Wood, comes to Oxford Playhouse from Tuesday 23 to Saturday 27 July.
James lives with Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker, the most revolting Aunts in England. Then one day he meets a mysterious old man who gives him a bag that contains the strongest magic the world has ever known. When James accidentally spills the bag near an old peach tree, the most incredible things start to happen – and James embarks on the adventure of a lifetime!
Following its acclaimed productions of George’s Marvellous Medicine and The Jungle Book, Birmingham Stage Company brings Roald Dahl’s very first children’s book and one of his most popular stories to life. His books have recently been made into smash-hit West End shows such as Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
If you’re looking for fruit-filled fun and wizz-popping wonders this summer holiday, it promises to be the perfect family treat.
