Just to let you know that a wonderful production of Romeo & Juliet opens next Friday 8th. Feb. at the Barn Theatre. Details on our website.
Would be good if you could include it on your blog please,
We went to see Whistle Down The Wind last night at the Library Theatre, staged by the Griffin Players. It was brilliant, better than some West End musicals I’ve seen.
Well directed, the acting and singing were excellent, American accents convincing, (especially the children), and a very ingenious set with clever use of the space. The special effects were good with effective use of the lighting.
I would urge anyone to go and see it, if they can get a ticket. Last night tonight, 15th.
I’m sure the Griffin Players did a good job. The main problem as I see it is that the theatre management seem to have given up on shows for grown-ups. In the days of previous managements, (Roy Darby, Janet Clemitson, Doc Watson etc) there was always something on and so local people got into the habit of going to the Library Theatre. Now you’re lucky to find the place unlocked and not in darkness in the evenings! All that’s left are the amateurs that can afford to book the place and I think that’s now down to about three per year!
Come on Library Theatre Management! No one ever filled a theatre by not booking in shows!
I’m one of Paul McMullen’s oldest friends and organising a tribute evening to him at St Albans Arena on Monday September 9th starting at 7pm. I’m told you knew Paul from when he worked at the Arena and I wondered if you could perhaps call/email me about the tribute? I’m after anecdotes, stories etc and also any archive of him – promoting his shows…? Do contact me. Many thanks. Edward
I am directing the classic ‘A Taste of Honey’ at The Barn Theatre, Welwyn Garden City. The play is staged from 20th – 28th September. More details on the Barn’s brilliant website http://www.barntheatre.co.uk
Thanks for any coverage! It’s going to be good!
Dear Ernie, Sorry to hear about the radio show issue but thanks for agreeing to include our Charity Concert in your blog.
Rotary Club of Luton North
There are a couple of amazing visual shows – all new work – coming to the Oxford Burton Taylor studio over the next week. I know you can’t flag them all on your list Ernie but I had to give these two a mention. On October 3rd and 4th, unusual and heart felt dance and puppetry show Headcase (‘A very beautiful and moving show’ Total Theatre); and the following Monday 7th new writing from award-winning Stllpoint Theatre, Moon Project (‘Powerful, highly compelling compelling and genuinely funny’ Oxford Daily Info ****). Tickets are £10 and £8 for striking new work that will tickle the imagination.
I’m the press officer for the Company of Ten in St Albans, and I was just wondering if you could provide an email address where we can send press releases and other information relating to our upcoming shows?
Many thanks in advance
Hope you’re well!

Sorry Natalie, just going through old comments on the TheatreBlog and realised that I’d miss yours! Yes, I’m always interested to hear about HLOS. So maybe you can email me with any press releases in good time for future shows.
Sorry about missing your message!
I have my comedy series coming out on radio 4 on 29th April. I really want to promote it as much as possible. Do you know who I should contact at BBC 3 counties to do an interview? Is judi still covering things? Cheers Alex Lowe
Your contact details have been given to us by another WI group, and I wondered whether you would be able to come and give a talk to our ladies? We are in Hargrave Northamptonshire and the date available is July 12 2017.
Not sure what aspect of your work you would talk about, but we are open to suggestions. I was told you gave a very enjoyable talk as a children’s entertainer, but perhaps we could discuss this.
Hope to hear from you.

I was baffled, putting it lightly, when I saw my images at your web-site. If you use a copyrighted image without an owner’s permission, you need to be aware that you could be sued by the creator.
It’s illegitimate to use stolen images and it’s so selfish!
See this document with the links to my images you used at erniealmond.com and my earlier publications to get the evidence of my ownership.
Download it right now and check this out for yourself:
If you don’t delete the images mentioned in the file above within the next several days, I’ll file a to your hosting provider stating that my copyrights have been severely infringed and I am trying to protect my intellectual property.
And if it doesn’t work, for damn sure I am going to take legal action against you! And I won’t give you a prior notice again.
In reply to Melia, I notice you’ve changed your name from the previous identical letter?? But this was the answer I gave you before and it is still the same as when you called yourself Nancy!
Dear Nancy if I have infringed a copyright it will be accidental. I only use pictures sent to me by the production companies. Unfortunately, the link you sent comes up with purely a message from Google saying I don’t have permission to look at it – so there is no way of telling which picture you’re talking about. Please let me know and I will remove it immediately.
My name is Nancy.

This letter is official notification. I seek the removal of the infringing material referenced above. Please take note as a service provider, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act requires you, to remove or disable access to the infringing materials upon receipt of this notice. If you do not cease the use of the aforementioned copyrighted material a lawsuit will be commenced against you.
I have a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted materials described above as allegedly infringing is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Just a heads-up that I believe the word “didnt” is spelled wrong on your website. I had a couple of errors on my site before I started using a service to monitor for them. There are a few sites that do this but we like SpellingReport.com and ErrorSearch.com.
Spelled incorrectly? You mean like it is in your message?
